Cvetan Cvetanov

Cvetan Cvetanov (b. 1979, Mihajlovgrad, Bulgaria) is an underground promoter of “strange and beautiful music”, radio journalist in the fields of music, literature and cinema (working for Bulgarian National Radio’s cultural channel Programa “Hristo Botev” since 2002), early morning free jazz listener and founder and art-director of “Alarma Punk Jazz” festival and concert series – more than 350 concerts (since 2008), including the first shows in Bulgaria ever of plenty of international artists and bands (The Necks, The Thing, Handsome Furs, Jeniferever, Jozef van Wissem, Iva Bittova, Eugene Chadbourne, Jerusalem In My Heart, The Ex, The Membranes, Kayo Dot, Rubatong, Hugo Race & The True Spirit, Jacques Demierre, Reverend Beat-Man and recently, this year – Chrysta Bell, Acid Mothers Temple, King Ayisoba Band, Tatsuya Yoshida, ect.). All concerts of “Alarma Punk Jazz” are broadcasted live on Bulgarian National Radio, giving an access to many people from small or distant areas in Bulgaria (live on air) or worldwide (on internet) to listen live amazing artists and bands, usually marginalized by the commercial radio stations. “Alarma Punk Jazz” platform is also focused on discovering new bands from Bulgaria and the Balkans.
