Peter Smidt worked as artist, artist manager, booking agent, concert and festival promoter. Smidt studied art and art management at Rijks University Groningen. He worked as promoter for Groninger Summer festival, Grand Theatre, De Oosterpoort Groningen and Freedom festival Haarlem. Smidt started Eurosonic Noorderslag and Eurosonic Noorderslag conference and was creative director of ESNS until 2019. Smidt was manager pop and rock at Buma Cultuur. The Buma funded Dutch repertoire promotion and export office in the Netherlands and started Dutch Music Export. Smidt was A board member of European Music Office and EMEE. He was initiator of ETEP (European Talent Exchange Programma).
