Since 2017 she has been working as a policy advisor for the European Music Council. Her tasks include analyzing policies and drafting policy recommendations on EU cultural policy and other fields relevant to music. She has participated in several Stakeholder Consultations on the EU levels such as Voices of Culture and Music Moves Europe and the European Agenda for Culture. From 2014 to 2017 she worked for the Creative Europe Desk Germany assisting cultural institutions to prepare project applications for Creative Europe and conducting seminars and workshops on EU funding for cultural projects. From 2013 to 2014 she worked for the Cultural Policy Association in Germany on a project about cultural education and was a member of the editorial team for the association’s magazine. Prior to this position, from 2012 to 2013 she worked for Europe for Citizens Point in Germany assisting municipalities and civil society organizations to prepare project applications for Europe for Citizens program and conducting seminars and workshops. From 2006 to 2010 she worked on the “Europe funds culture” website, German-Austrian cooperation providing information about EU funding for culture. Katharina has an M.A. in political science from the University of Bonn. Since June 2021, she is a board member and Vice-President of Culture Action Europe.
