Damir Batarelo

Damir Batarelo was born in Rijeka on December 13, 1985. He is the former president of the Association of Associations Molekula (Rijeka); former program coordinator of the Marganova area (former Hartera paper factory, Rijeka); former program coordinator for club Palach (Rijeka), collaborator on many projects for the development of the independent cultural scene and social entrepreneurship; organizer of several music festivals (Moshfest, Tides of youth, Dark OMetal Festival, Ri rock festival) etc. I have obtained a diploma at the Department of Cultural Studies, Faculty of Philosophy in Rijeka on the topic and reflections on everyday life, which will significantly determine his later work in the non-governmental sector through a constant striving for social change. I gained first experience working in the civil sector through volunteer work in various NGOs. Later, I have learned project logic and its application at many workshops that are manifested through the implementation of several projects from different fields of activity, guided by the need to redefine existing social relationships, which ultimately leads to an interest in the topic of social entrepreneurship and culture. Then he moved to Zagreb, where he became a project and program coordinator, PR associate on AKC Attack projects. Today, he is a social media manager for Hangtime Agency and owner of small company Crnilo which specializes in booking and promoting heavy underground music. Current areas of interest: fusion of culture and entrepreneurship; development of independent spaces, self-sustainability, musical extremities of all kinds, social theory, activism.
