Gordana Ristić has worked for 23 years as an activist in the fields of peacebuilding, human rights, youth and culture in the Balkans. She has been running the Vranje-based NGO Generator since 2001. Since then, she has been working on projects in the field of music, such as “Balkan Streets Festival”, “Music without borders”, “Streets – mapping young creative scenes in Europe” supported by European Cultural Foundation, European Union, Serbian Ministry for Culture etc. She organized many concerts and music festivals and conferences in Serbia and abroad, such as “Stari dani” in 2008, Balkan Streets Festival 2009-2014 etc. She was a panellist at various conferences including WOMEX, PIN etc. Nowadays, she works on the initiative “Girls play trumpet too” empowering girls, and particularly Roma girls to play trumpet. http://www.generator.org
