34’O is a jazz fusion trio based in Sofia, Bulgaria.
It was formed in November 2018. Saxophone player and producer Julian Stoichkov has previously worked with bass player Daniele Febbo and percussionist Georgi Popov on separate projects.
At some point they ended up in a studio and decided to see how an electric bass guitar, a tenor saxophone and Cuban congas would sound together. In 2019 they were already playing in music venues around the city, always staying open for collaborations with other artists.
The band has a very particular sound, inspired by the jazz tradition, Cuban rhythms and their Balkan background. They don’t set limitations how to express themselves, be it with the use of electronics in their sets, singing, rearranging standards or jamming with musicians from different genres.
