Founded in 2015, the Brigade du Kif has been rocking the stages in France and Europe with their Ska Rock infused with punk, swing, and French chanson. In just a few years, the band has built a solid stage reputation with colorful, high-energy shows. In 2022, they released their new album featuring 12 songs written on napkins or coasters, tested during soundchecks, sung during after-parties, and even played during concerts on their “En bas de chez de toi” tour (2018-2019).
At the helm of this third album is David Bourguignon, a versatile and talented producer who aims to capture the essence of a band seasoned by touring. To achieve this, he records the band live, with the bassist, guitarist, and drummer all in the same room! Old school, searching for the essential, and it sounds great! This shift towards a rawer, rockier sound, tailored for festivals, is embraced. Nevertheless, the Brigade remains true to itself, continuing to play with styles to bring out their festive essence, always with different sounds and colors.
After a bustling 2023, with 46 concerts including 11 abroad (Germany, Netherlands), they hit the road again in 2024 for a new tour called “On fait les cons,” which promises to be very festive and rock ‘n’ roll!
THE BRIGADE DU KIF has performed at: Musicalarue, Festival de Carcassonne, Garorock, La Voix du Rock, Festival des Cagouilles, Festival Esta Poulit, Desertival, Saute-mouton, Europopcorn, Festival les enchanteurs, Vic Fezansac, Festidreuz, Festival Saumon, Ile aux pies, as well as various fairs such as Dax and Béziers.
The band also performs abroad; they played in Spain, Hungary, and the Netherlands (at the Lowland and Passpop festivals) and completed a 12-concert tour in Germany in 2023. In 2024, they have 14 dates planned in Germany and the Netherlands.
You may have seen them on stage alongside Tryo, Marcel and his Orchestra, Java, Les Hurlements d’Léo, Les Sheriff, Massilia Sound System, La Ruda, Les Wampas, Soviet Suprem, Les Fatals Picards, Les Fils de Teuhpu, Gambeat, Picon mon amour, Bob’s Not Dead, and more…
While waiting for their new album, expected at the end of 2024/beginning of 2025, they released a beautiful collector’s vinyl record, a red 45 RPM, accompanied by its CD, all in a lovely illustrated double sleeve, along with clips for new tracks like “Reusta,” “À la folie des branleurs,” and the radio edit of “On leur fera les poches,” which you can find on their website and Facebook page.
