Boyan Boiadjiev started his musical career as the guitarist in the band who drove the van, booked the hotels, and took care of settlements.
After two university degrees and seven years under the Texan sun, he completed an MA in Arts Administration at IU Bloomington. While there, he also joined the Lotus World Music and Arts Festival. He worked his way up from backline manager to become a full-fledged member of the production team, in charge of artist relations and logistics.
Boyan moved to Europe to work with Sofia Music Enterprises (SME), the Bulgarian partner to Live Nation, and immediately joined the Sting “Symphonicities” tour across the Balkans. In the following years, he produced and promoted artists like Aerosmith, Depeche Mode, Roger Waters, Steven Wilson, Al Di Meola, Nigel Kennedy, Cirque Du Soleil, Lady Gaga, Iron Maiden, and many others.
In 2017, Boyan became a freelancer and started booking concerts and managing local artists under the brand PanHarmony. He also got involved in music export initiatives, lending a helping hand to motivated artists who wanted an international career. Notably, he was instrumental in presenting the first Bulgarian artists at Glastonbury Festival.
Undeterred by the Covid pandemic, Pan Harmony, in cooperation with Blue Hills Events, booked and produced one of the only international shows in Bulgaria in 2020, which took place at the Antique Theater, Plovdiv. He also laid the groundwork for the Sofia International Music Conference (SIMC), the first Bulgarian showcase and music business education platform, launched in March of 2021.
Unable to hold an in-person event, SIMC was reinvented as a weekly podcast, with content ranging from panel discussions on topics relevant to the local and regional music industry to interviews with high-profile figures in the business. The first “season” will comprise over 20 hours of music industry content, fulfilling its purpose to educate, inform, and guide local musicians on their path to international success.
Boyan is still an active musician, playing and recording in a variety of styles – from heavy metal to swing. He is also an amateur mixologist and passionate about cooking and healthy eating.
