Scoremusic is developing a cloud service that connects publishers and musicians all over the world, creating a marketplace for digital sheet music sales and rentals. The current functionality – an iPad APP for reading and annotating, a web interface for score management, via which sheet music in groups, such as orchestras, choirs and ensembles, is handled centrally by a librarian. Thanks to the cloud service, all the annotations are automatically saved, shared and synched online in real time.
In general Scoremusic eliminates all the hassle with paper music sheets and solves limited supply issues both for publishers and musicians. Scoremusic saves a significant amount of time and money for both – publishers and customers, that would otherwise be spent on administration, personnel and delivery fees for sending thousands of paper copies by snail mail. Ecological impact-much less paper and physical delivery.
