Marcus Oertel from Dresden/DE has worked for many years as a self-employed cultural manager in international and EU-funded exchange projects, mainly with Central and Eastern Europe. From 2013 to 2016 he was CEO of Dresden based NGO Kultur Aktiv. Up from 2016 he has changed his position to work for the city administration of Dresden as education coordinator for adult refugees but turned back to Kultur Aktiv as (voluntary) president in 2019. Working on both sides, he’s familiar with relations between local administration and civil society in the fields of culture and education.
