NAYDEN TODOROV is one of the prominent contemporary European musicians, known for his versatile and vivid interpretations of music in different genres.
Born in 1974 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, he received his first piano lessons at the age of five and at sixteen made his conducting debut.
After his study in Sofia, Vienna and Jerusalem, he started a concert carrier, having concerts all over Europa, North America, South America, Asia and Africa.
He worked with orchestras like Vienna Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo City Philharmonic, North Israeli Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Brasilia, Cairo Philharmonic Orchestra, Sicilia Symphony Orchestra and many others.
In the classical field he worked with most of the prominent musicians of our time, including Joshua Bell, Midori, Sarah Chang, Maxim Vengerov, Martha Argerich, Maria João Pires; Ivo Pogorelich, Gautier Capucon, Roberto Alagna, Thomas Hampson and Placido Domingo among others. He also worked with many musicians from the pop genre, like Jon Lord – Deep Purple, Anastacia, Steve Balsamo, Doogie White and many more.
He is a host of a TV show about classical music and in his free time he writes short stories, some of which published in a book.
In his native country he was chosen twice “Musician of the year”.
Since 2017 he is music director of Sofia Philharmonic and in the last years he served also three times as Culture minister in Bulgaria.
