Nico Kennes is responsible for international relations of pop, rock, alternative & hip hop at VI.BE, the Flemish point of contact for musicians and the music sector, that also operates as an export office. Together with our colleagues at Wallonie-Bruxelles Musiques, we support, promote and export Belgian acts under the flag of Belgium Booms. Moreover we organise network events and function as a matchmaker between the Belgian and international music sector. Nico previously worked for Flanders Arts Institute, in a similar function. Before that he was a freelance music journalist. On top of that, Nico is also a musician in a Brussels based indie rock band called Barely Autumn, which – in pre-Covid-times – predominantly toured Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany.
