Nikola Jovanović is the founder and director of the publishing house Kontra. Kontra was established in 2004 as a magazine of popular culture, which existed for a full ten years and became one of the most respectable domestic online magazines. Since 2011, Kontra has taken on a new form as an agency dealing with management and consulting services. Kontra soon profiled itself as a PR agency that specializes in the entertainment and music industry, thus successfully conducting campaigns, including campaigns for the Supernatural Festival 2013/2014, Jelen Pivo Live Festival, promotion of the album ‘Absurdistan’ by Dubioza Kolektiv, concerts in the Sports Hall and many others. From November 2017, Kontra enters a new era by launching a publishing house and digital music distribution, so that, together with Kontra’s management, it completes the story by dealing with the music industry. With over 15 years of experience in the music industry, Nikola is one of the key people in the music industry in the Balkans. He is the Vice President of the Regional Association of Independent Discographers (RUNDA). He is one of the organizers of the INDIREKT Showcase Festival and Conference. He is also the manager of the electro pop rock disco band Butch Cassidy. He is also the founder of the publishing house Lampshade Media and was its director until 2017. From 2017 to 2019, he was the Marketing Director of the SAE Institute in Belgrade, where from 2013, he taught Music Business as a guest lecturer. Previously, from 2009 to 2017, he was MTV Adria’s Talent and Music Manager for the Balkan region. He participated in the organization of over 300 concerts in Serbia and the region. He graduated in Sound Recording and Processing at the BK Academy of Arts in Belgrade.
