Roger Bouwens

Roger was the managing director and programmer of a 400-seats venue for more than 30 years before retiring. He is the founding president of Toernee Mondial, a network of Flemish venues involved in touring world/folk/global/ since 1995. Till now still active as the president of the network and programming TMon on Stage.

Education: Social – Cultural worker.

Experience: Pub owner and managing director/programmer for 35 years at the Cultural Centre Leopoldsburg in Flanders/Belgium.  A multifunctional centre with a 400-seat auditorium, exhibition and meeting spaces.

Founder and president of the network Toernee Mondial since 1995.

Retired in 2018 and chairman of Toernee Mondial until today.

International expertise: several times delegate, panellist, speed meeting partner etc.  at for example Folkalarm/N; showcase PEI/Can; Celtic Colors/Can; Festival Mediterranea de Manresa/Sp; Music Market Barcelona/Sp; Contact East/Can; Folk Spot/DK; ECMA/Can; and more.

What does Toernee Mondial do?  TMon is an association of some 20 Flemish cultural centres with the only goal to facilitate/organize  concert tours with bands from outside Belgium.  Each participating centre decides individually whether or not to participate in a selected tour.  Tmon exclusively forms concert tours in the field of world music/folk, global, roots and also focuses on circus and physical comedy.

Tmon believes in fysical prospection to discover fine and challenging music.
